A number of star names are taking part in this Sunday’s HRDC races at the Castle Combe circuit’s BRSCC race weekend. However the musical stars in question have asked for their names not to be revealed ahead of the event, but will be competing in the HRDC ‘Allstars’, ‘A-Series Challenge’ and ‘A35 Academy’ race. They will be competing against the likes of Steve Jones from Wells in his Mini Cooper S and the Lenham GT of circuit PR man John Moon from Bath.
The Historic Racing Drivers Club’s 25 minute ‘Coys Trophy’ race for saloon cars of the late 1950s to 1966 see father and son Mike and Andrew Jordan share their Lotus Cortina, the latter taking a break from his British Touring Car championship duties. They will have to contend with the mighty Ford Galaxy of Bristol based drivers David Hathaway and Dan Cox.
The BRSCC Race Weekend’s other races include the new ‘Coombs Heritage Challenge’ for pre 1966 Jaguar saloons, the Dunlop TVR challenge, Porsches, BMWs, Golf Gtis, ‘Sports 2000’ cars including the Loaded Gunn of local driver Jonathan Loader, Formula Jedi for one litre single seaters and the circuit’s own hugely popular championships.Posted on Thursday 13 July 2017
