Castle Combe Formula Ford Championship  

Wiltshire College is collaborating with Castle Combe Racing Club in an exciting proposal for a Formula Ford Scholarship, intended to discover a promising young driver for the 2019 racing season.

The scheme will be jointly promoted between Wiltshire College, Castle Combe Racing Club and Circuit to provide the winning candidate with all the key elements for a chance to win the prestigious 2019 Castle Combe Formula Ford circuit championship.

This valuable scholarship package will include:-

  • Full 2019 Racing Membership to Castle Combe Racing Club
  • Registration into the 2019 Castle Combe Formula Ford Championship
  • Race entry for each round of the 2019 championship
  • Use of a fully race-prepared Wiltshire College Spectrum FF chassis, engine & gearbox
  • Pre-race testing at Castle Combe prior to each race
  • Full assistance with car set-up and access to previously recorded race data
  • Driver mentoring
  • Professional Media Training and assessment
  • Professional support with Press & Media releases
  • Four tickets to Castle Combe Racing Club’s annual awards dinner 2019

The candidate will provide:-

  • Tyres (4 Avon ACB 10 Control tyres £368:00 (excluding VAT, carriage & any discount)
  • Fuel
  • Race Insurance or bond to cover accident damage (Individual driver’s quotation required)

The competition is open to any driver under 25 who has completed for at least one year in any UK racing series and is prepared to commit to all the 2019 Castle Combe FF Championship rounds. 

Selection of the suitable candidate will be undertaken by a panel of 3 judges familiar with the UK racing scene and who will consider race results, communication skills and media personality as key ingredients in their decision-making. In addition, Judges may decide to hold an evaluation day at Castle Combe circuit at which candidates will be invited to attend.

The winner will wear logos of the scheme’s partners prominently on car and overalls and take part in a reasonable level of promotion and advertising.

The scheme is open to drivers under the age of 25 [at time of registration], from any form of racing, but with at least one year’s experience. Candidates will submit their race results and keep the scheme coordinator updated on their progress throughout the 2018 season. The winner will be announced at Castle Combe Racing Club’s annual awards dinner in November.

 

Registration is to the initiative is free and an entry form can be download from the Castle Combe Racing Club’s website, to be submitted with covering letter, CV and photograph.
