Club Office News
After careful consideration, the club has decided to utilize its current resources to organise the final three race meetings of 2021 and delay the recruitment of a Racing Coordinator until autumn. This will allow adequate time to be devoted to this crucial club office appointment.
As a temporary holding situation, Competitions Director Steve Weston will handle race entries, timetable, and paddock plan for each of the remaining three race meetings, Shirl Davis will continue to facilitate membership, magazine, and admin’ – Thursdays only – and Richard Beard will coordinate the corps of faithful Combe marshals, whilst lending IT expertise for all functions.
There are just two club championship race meetings remaining in 2021 – plus Autumn Classic – and we would really appreciate member’s race entries as soon as possible to assist us in planning and preparing for the final events, in what has been a successful recovery year.

Awards Dinner 2021
Due to uncertainty relating to the permanent lifting of COVID restrictions, the possibility of a third lockdown and the need to make advanced commitments to secure catering and overnight accommodation, we have deferred Castle Combe’s grand 70th birthday and awards dinner, planned for Bristol Aerospace November 13th, to 12th November 2022 – a date for your diaries.
This postponement means that we are currently considering ways to celebrate our 2021 championship winners. The options suggested are a) A virtual awards evening presented by the circuit’s popular lead commentator Chris Dawes. b) Two smaller functions in the Strawford Centre, at which we could present the winners with their awards at informal autumn lunchtime buffets.
We would welcome views and opinions on these awards’ dinner options or even alternatives. Please send suggestions to: email@example.com
Club AGM – 12th October Café H
As COVID restrictions and control measures relax, we plan to hold our CCRC AGM as a real time meeting this year, 6.30 pm Tuesday 12th October. The meeting is open to all current members of Castle Combe Racing Club and will be followed by a buffet and guest appearance by motorsport journalist Marcus Pye, who will chat to Nigel Greensall – former circuit record holder – on his considerable UK and overseas racing experiences. More details to follow about our first opportunity to socialise and get things back to normal - watch this space!
