Global fuel giant, Gulf, has been confirmed as the Official Race Fuel Provider for Castle Combe Circuit throughout 2024, as well as a title sponsor for the Formula Ford Championship run by Castle Combe Racing Club, that will compete at the circuit throughout the year.

The news means a range of Gulf’s fuel products will be readily available to purchase from the Wiltshire race track throughout the year, including the firm’s range of high-performance motorsport fuels that are popular amongst track day-goers and racers.

Gulf will also be present at the entire calendar of 2024 race events held at Castle Combe Circuit, in the form of a paddock-based trade stand where the firm’s team will offer support and discuss its products and services with race drivers, race teams, and spectators.

Founded in the USA over 100 years ago, the Gulf brand is globally recognised and trusted by millions of customers and has long held a close affiliation with motorsport. Initially backing the land speed record-breaking Morman Meteor in 1936, Gulf rose to international prominence in the ‘60s and ‘70s when it teamed up with John Wyer of JW Automotive Engineering to enter various World Endurance Championship (WEC) races with the likes of Ford GTs and Porsche 917s – cars which helped propel the firm’s instantly recognisable powder blue and orange-coloured livery to global fame. This iconic Gulf orange disc-based branding will be embedded with Castle Combe in 2024, including in the form of trackside and paddock branding, and inclusion in the circuit’s print media and digital media.

With countless endurance campaigns under its belt in the following decades, Gulf’s close connection with McLaren began in the mid-Nineties, in the form of the sensational McLaren F1 GTR race car. Since then, the firm has supported almost all corners of the motorsport world, including links with Aston Martin, Nissan’s 4×4 Dakar Rally campaign, motorcycle racing and even a return to F1 in 2021 alongside McLaren.

Gulf Race Fuels specialised blends allow you, the racer, to extract every last ounce of power and torque from your engine without compromising reliability. Gulf Race Fuels’ team will be on hand at every event to help advise you what blend will match your needs perfectly.

Max Symonds, the circuit’s Commercial Manager had this to say about the partnership: “We are excited to welcome Gulf into Castle Combe Circuit for 2024. In addition to enabling us to provide fuel to our track day and race customers throughout the season, having Gulf onboard will help us in our journey towards improving the circuit offering and promoting motorsport excellence… and personally I’m looking forward to seeing the beautiful Gulf colours and logo around the site!”

Mark Gardner, Business Development Manager of Gulf Race Fuels, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “We are thrilled to align Gulf Race Fuels with the historic and prestigious Castle Combe Circuit. This partnership represents a commitment to excellence and a shared dedication to pushing the boundaries of performance in motorsports. We look forward to contributing to the success of events at Castle Combe and providing competitors with the advanced fuel solutions they need to achieve their best results on the track.”
